Overview of Responsibilities : This position is responsible for the assembly of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) products, sub-assemblies and systems to KJLC high quality standards. This position will take ownership of ALD mechanical or electrical assemblies, using engineering schematics and / or work instructions on products of varying complexity. Additional leadership roles and / or administrative responsibilities may be required. Key Job Elements : Ownership of assembling and functional testing of ALD mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies using Engineering drawings and technical notes Wiring and / or plumbing (hard and soft) within the system framework in accordance with engineering schematics Mounting of mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and / or electrical assemblies Ability to perform helium leak detection to semiconductor specification standards on ALD products Assist ALD Team members (Product Manager, Principal Scientist, Test Engineer and Service Engineer) in the planning and execution of quality control related projects Ability to help coordinate project scheduling and daily assembly activities using good communication skills May include some customer interaction and field assembly / service support work Create assembly work instructions and capturing of tribal knowledge Create assembly reports on prototype assembly builds for Product Manager review Occasionally conduct training on proper methods and techniques regarding general assembly tasks Ability to safely use standard tools and portable power equipment Role model of excellence in basic vacuum science assembly practices May include some basic manual machining capabilities Perform work in a logical, orderly and skillful manner while maintaining a high level of quality workmanship Maintain a clean and organized work area Other duties as assigned Qualifications : Required High School Diploma or equivalent 2 – 10 years related experience Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 30 lbs. unassisted. Assistance must be used for any items over this weight. Assistance is always required for anything weighing over 60 lbs.
