Job Summery:
The Material Control Technician is responsible for all facets involved in the Machine Shop Material Control Division. Duties include making sure production orders move through the Machine Shop efficiently and on schedule. Additional responsibilities include working with all shop personnel (operators, supervisors, project managers, and purchasing) on material and route issues
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Physically inspect and receive inbound material
- Inspection and posting of products into inventory, physically and into the computer inventory system.
- Process material and coordinate the proper put away, making sure that all material is labeled and stored in its proper bin location in the warehouse
- Maintain and monitor stock levels to assure proper levels are set
- Maintain and process all paperwork related to the daily functions of the job (receiving discrepancy forms, packing lists, etc.)
- Maintain good communications with other departments and personnel to make sure that all processes associated with them get processed or communicated.
- Process and maintain proper Cycle Count System while working with department supervisor.
- Use proper safety awareness, and follow the General Safety Rules
- Picking and packing of sales and production pick lists
- Perform general warehouse duties
- Perform basic cleanup of work area and keep the warehouse organized
- Maintain a high awareness of safety and organization
- Coordinates and provides support to employees and/or other departments to resolve shipping and packaging issues and matters.
- All processes should follow the guidelines established in the department’s work instructions.
- Performs and completes any other tasks/projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required
- High School education
- Basic Computer Skills (i.e.: Outlook, Microsoft Office, etc…)
- Ability to physically perform the job including: climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, etc.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 30 lbs. unassisted. Assistance required over 60 lbs.
- Ability to collaborate and work well within a team environment, and willingness to motivate and support others
- Ability to perform within a changing workload and/or priorities and meet order schedules with quality results.
Preferred
- Experience with Microsoft products and ERP systems
- Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse experience.
- Minimum one (1) year of related warehouse experience within the consistent areas of material handling, shipping and receiving, distribution, and/or operations.
- Good understanding of basic/fundamental warehouse shipping and receiving procedures.
Working Environment:
- Flexible working hours – base shift is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
