What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Kurz Transfer Products LP?
- Run a 24/5 operation of 4 screen printing presses and peripheral equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Control process variables to maintain product consistency, production efficiency and product quality by job and machine
- Define process variables for all work cells and continually re-evaluate each process for potential improvements, monitor effects of process changes
- Monitor and analyze material scrap- and customer complaint reports, determine root cause failures and develop corrective action plans
- Lead and take charge in shop floor supervision, foster a supportive, inclusive, dynamic working environment of continuous improvement and safety
- Assess required skills and training needs for personnel, conduct operator training, ensure personnel is sufficiently trained to maintain excellence in daily activities
- Work closely with our maintenance team to coordinate and schedule an overall predictive maintenance plan, assesses status of production equipment and new equipment needs
- Support QC department with ISO-9001:2015 compliance and SOP development
- Maintain safety standards in accordance with all company, local, state, and federal policies
- Periodic communication and information exchange with German and Chinese production plants on new technology, new production methods or new equipment.

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities as production needs follow market demands
- High level of mechanical acumen and hands-on aptitude.
- Intermediate mathematical skills, excellent verbal- and written communication skills.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety standard and equipment procedures
- Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment, ability to perform modest physical tasks and standing for extended periods of time.
- Infrequent domestic and/or international travel to affiliated companies may be required for training purposes.
Experience and Education
- 5-8 year management-, or supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Process knowledge in web- and sheet feed screen printing, lacquer mixing, finishing and warehousing.
- Plus:
- Lean Six Sigma certification or -experience
- Work experience in “clean room” environments
- SAP ERP experience
- Forklift certification
