Position Summary :
The Billing Configuration Specialist creates, deploys, and supports quality applications used to enhance the work and mission of KVC. The Billing Configuration Specialist works in collaboration with developers, project managers, the technology team, and business leaders / stakeholders to add value through technology, continued learning, agility, and curiosity.
Work location :
This will be a remote position with the option of working in the Olathe, KS office. In office days would be required for certain meetings and projects.
Education :
High School Graduate or equivalent AND at least 80 hours of documented relevant revenue cycle training on an enterprise level system (HCM / EHR / ERP) OR certification OR degree completion in healthcare administration, finance, or related field
Experience :
5 years of related experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and coding systems.
Experience with system integrations and the import / export of data between systems.
Experience with report creation and maintenance such as Excel, Crystal Reports, Cognos, and Power BI.
Experience with implementing, integrating, configuring, and maintaining 3rd Party applications.
Some experience coordinating internal / external technology resources to maximize system feature usage and functionality.
Preferred Experience / Skills :
Strong customer service focus, excellent time management
Exceptional verbal, analytical and written communication skills
Skills required include organizational and interpersonal skills
Certification / Licensure :
At least 21 years old
Valid Drivers License
Valid Auto Insurance
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
Task Expectations :
Design, develop, and customize systems to meet the specific needs of patient admission processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including healthcare providers and billing subject matter experts to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Ability to synthesize knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management systems (including generation of 837, 1500, and UB) and billing practices to collaboratively plan and carry out configuration updates.
Configure and optimize software modules related to patient management processes.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of functionalities related to backend system procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex issues related to patient workflows.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in healthcare and related systems.
Develop and maintain documentation including system configurations, user guides, and training materials for core functionalities.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to educate end-users on system features and enhancements.
