Position Summary:
- The Grant Accountant is responsible for managing and ensuring the proper financial administration of grants, contracts, and related projects and following up on outstanding accounts receivable.
Schedule:
- Hybrid; in office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university
Experience:
- Two years of accounting experience, preferably in grant or fund accounting.
Preferred Experience:
- Requires Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs, and Outlook email.
- Understanding of GAAP and OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) regulations
- Experience working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment Motivated self-starter
- Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines autonomously
Certification/Licensure:
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Drivers License
- Valid Auto Insurance
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Task Expectations:
- Track grant expenditures, ensuring they align with the approved budget.
- Monitor and review grant budgets regularly to ensure spending is within approved limits.
- Compile regular reports on grant status, including expenditures, balances, and any variances from the budget.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to grants.
- Assist with financial audit work paper preparation.
- Generate invoices and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with program managers and other departments to develop budgets for grant proposals.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of grant accounts, including grant revenue, receivables, and expenditures.
- Ensure timely requests for grant funds (drawdowns) and manage cash disbursements related to grant activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
