POSITION SUMMARY :
Responsible for managing the financial aspects of federal grants and Title IV student aid funds received by an institution, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations by tracking expenditures, preparing reports, monitoring budgets, and coordinating with program managers and administrators to maintain accurate financial records related to these funding sources
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Grant Administration : Review expense activity to ensure federal compliance; request funds from grant agency; and report financials to the grant agency.
- Financial Aid Title IV Administration; request funds from G5(Department of Education), complete necessary bank transfers, complete journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
- Providing timely financial reports to program managers on grant and Title IV fund usage.
- Staying updated on all federal regulations and guidelines related to grant and Title IV funding.
- Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, including submission of timely and accurate financial reports to funding agencies.
- Ensure internal controls are followed to mitigate risks and safeguard grant funds.
- Assist with accounting functions to include accounts reconciliations, creating, reviewing, and posting journal entries.
- Gathering and organizing necessary documentation to support grant and Title IV financial activity for internal and external audits
- Assist in check log, remote deposits, and bank deposits.
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Other ad hoc reports and projects as requested.
- Supports various business office functions during peak periods.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
