KVC West Virginia is seeking a compassionate and dynamic Transitional Living for Vulnerable Youth Supervisor in Fairmount WV. The TLVY Supervisor position will be responsible for overseeing coordination of the Transitional Living for Vulnerable Youth program and staff. Will oversee treatment planning and care coordination of youth in within the program. Will oversee the Youth Advisors in providing youth with experiential, adult life skills, social emotional, and recreational learning opportunities. The TLVY Supervisor will coordinate with the Department of Human Services and other community partners on finding the best fit placement for potential enrollment in Middle College programming. Will be a liaison between KVC, Department of Diversion and Transition and Fairmont State University on behalf of youth in the program and will ensure Middle College cohesion
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in one of the behavioral sciences, such as social work, psychology, or counseling and/or 2 years' experience in child welfare.
Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in children and family services, with preferable knowledge working with youth in a treatment setting
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.
- Continues to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable; family centered, and connected to the community.
- Will directly supervise TLVY Youth Advisors in the program
- Utilize educational, socioemotional, and transitional living treatment components to ensure youth wellbeing needs are addressed
- Oversee the youth’s overall engagement in program and oversee coordination of services.
- Be a member of the youth’s treatment team and provide feedback on progress as needed.
- Work with DoHS and APS system to ensure that youth placed in home are eligible and a good fit for the Middle College program through Fairmont State University and the Department of Diversion and Transition.
- Will review intake documentation and assessments of new youth within the program.
- Possess the critical thinking skills needed to read and critically review documentation (including service tickets, psychosocial assessments and treatment plans) via Chart Online. Return any records to direct service providers for revision and provide clinical guidance for continued errors. Sign off on clinical staff documentation as required by agency and Atrezzo policy. Bachelors level supervisors may not sign off on MN documentation.
- Lead in training and development of additional staff. Will support Gallup engagement initiatives.
- The supervisor will have knowledge of Medically and Socially Necessary service techniques and proper documentation of these services.
- Will oversee youth group activities to build social skills, life skills as well as academic skills.
- Will refer youth with any clinical or mental related needs to KVC therapist for assessment,
- Will be the liaison of the youth participating in Middle College. Will work with Middle College staff on academic success of youth who start the program between semesters.
- Be willing and able to travel (possibly to multiple counties in a service area) and work with youth in a variety of settings that may include home, school, and community. Some evening and weekend work is required.
- Have knowledge of and provide de-escalation techniques, crisis management support, and Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) directives. 2 REV 3/28/2025
- Coordinate with all community members involved in the child’s life including paid and unpaid supports for the youth.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the Department of Human Services.
- Participate in administrative supervision on a regular basis (and clinical supervision as required).
- Ensures services follow all regulatory standards and contract terms and conditions
- Complete all required paperwork and follow agency policies and procedures within timelines, to ensure smooth paperwork flow.
Acquires and develops resources to meet identified needs of youth as needed Provide positive feedback to youth and staff
- Provide culturally relevant and sensitive services to youth.
- Observe children/youth for signs of abuse and/or neglect and report under guidelines of Mandated Reporting.
- Understand contract requirements and work to improve contract specific outcomes. Attends meetings, seminars, and other educational functions as identified by the supervisor or agency director.
Complete KVC required trainings under ADP learning and annual courses according to agency schedule. Participation of activities and opportunities for youth development afforded the program through grants and partnerships
- Will participate in a 24 hour on call rotation.
