Position Summary : The Driver will provide transportation services for children within KVC’s service system in the Topeka area.
Schedule : Full Time. Must be able to work both day or extended shift hours, including weekends and short notice.
Education : High School Diploma or GED
Certification / Licensure : Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
Experience : Previous experience working with children and / or families required.
Pay : $17.50 per hour with a $2,000 sign on bonus paid out in two installments!
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
- Ensure the timely receptions of children entering foster care.
- Provide a secure environment for children while in transit.
- Provide on-time arrival for all transports.
- Monitor and document outstanding child’s behavior and activities.
- Ensure confidentiality.
- Exhibit a high level of courtesy and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively with staff in the Transportation Department as well as other KVC staff and external clients / customers.
- Implement and follow all agency and department policies and procedures.
- Maintain a fully operational, well-maintained and clean vehicle.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain / complete all required forms and written reports.
- Assist in the transfer of materials throughout the agency.
- Attend necessary training hours as required by the Transportation Department.
- Participate in staff meetings and other department functions.
