Position Summary:
- Outpatient Therapists provide therapy to children and their families in order to facilitate and/or maintain timely permanent placements.
Location:
- Hiawatha, KS
Education:
- Master's degree in Social Work (LMSW), family therapy (LMFT & LCMFT), counseling (LPC & LCPC) or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year supervised experience in providing individual, family and group therapy to children and/or adolescents.
- Documented course work in child/adolescent development and individual, family and group counseling.
- Requires Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as Outlook email
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with children and families in need
Licensure/Certification:
- Valid drivers license
- Valid Auto Insurance
- At least 21 years old
- Licensure by the Kansas BSRB is required
Essential Duties:
- Extensive driving required. Use of a personal automobile with approved mileage reimbursement. This requires valid auto insurance and driver's license.
- Using the strengths-based perspective, assists the client to develop treatment goals and objectives.
- Provides individual, group and/or family therapy as the client's needs dictate, including providing service in the home.
- Provides support to program service units which may include, but are not limited to, crisis prevention and support, inservice education and training, development of safety plans, identifying interventions and sharing of pertinent knowledge and monitoring.
- Coordinates client services with consulting psychiatrist on an individual, as needed basis.
- Provide on-call crisis intervention.
- Testify in termination of parental rights trials and other hearings.
- Provide clinical consultation for other family team members.
- Document all contact with clients and collaterals.
- Attend treatment team meetings, staff meetings, family meetings and other required meetings.
- Attend required external meetings and workshops.
- Attend required number of in-service trainings annually.
- Maintain working relationships/communication with DCF, courts and other agencies.
