Pay Range: $20.55 to $29.82
Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. Kwik Trip, Inc. has a new opportunity in our IT Retail Services (ITRS) Department as a Low Voltage Technician. In this new role, you will install and update network cabling and systems at all retail locations or IT, communications, and camera equipment. Additionally, you will assist other groups and tasks with Low Voltage and networking installations tasks and projects as needed.
Regular tasks include but are not limited to:
- Run low voltage cabling for new store installs, remodel work at existing stores, and other company projects, including any basic testing and troubleshooting for any issues found
- Complete camera system install for new store installs and remodel work at existing stores
- Complete basic break/fix camera and digital display work
- Assist in performing basic FST tasks when needed
- Participate in meetings and provide consistent feedback on team policies and procedures
- Receive ongoing training, including safety training on tools and equipment
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of a one-year computer degree or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of network and installation standards.
- Knowledge of Windows OS.
- Knowledge of computer equipment and related POS hardware.
- Knowledge of Networks, Switches, Routers, Patch Panels and Rack equipment installations.
- Skill in using punch down tools to hardwire/terminate cabling
- Proven ability to coordinate work with other departments and outside vendors to accomplish tasks/projects in the field.
- Experience with working as a team member to accomplish projects.
- Strong communication skills; ability to train on new hardware and software changes.
- Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and projects.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while on site to provide excellent store support
- Ability to drive a vehicle and have a good driving record to provide onsite support to all the stores.
Preferred qualifications:
- Continued education and/or workshops on computer related topics, or any applicable certifications.
- In depth knowledge and experience of retail installation, maintenance, and systems.
- Electrician experience and knowledge of electrical safety procedures.
- Blueprint reading skills.
Physical Qualifications:
- Ability to sit, stand, or drive for extended periods of time
- Work 10 hour shifts
- Repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Schedule: Hours will vary according to installation and travel schedules, with 2 overnights per week on average. The days of the week are Monday through Thursday.
