Administrative & Office Specialist III

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, specifically related to fixed asset management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent data entry and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
Fixed Asset Accounting Technician may also be involved in tasks like asset tagging, coordinating asset transfers between departments, and assisting with internal or external audit requests related to fixed assets.
The department is looking for candidates who have a volume of fixed asset inventory experience
- Recording new fixed asset purchases, including details like cost, description, serial number, and depreciation schedule.
- Verifying purchase orders and invoices against received assets.
- Assigning asset tags and maintaining physical asset inventory.
Asset Maintenance:
- Updating asset records with information regarding repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Calculating and recording depreciation expense on a timely basis.
Asset Disposal:
- Processing asset disposals, including generating necessary documentation for sale or removal.
- Updating asset records to reflect asset retirement.
Recordkeeping and Reconciliation:
- Maintaining accurate fixed asset ledgers and subsidiary ledgers.
- Reconciling fixed asset balances to the general ledger.
- Performing periodic physical inventory checks to verify asset existence and condition.
Reporting:
- Generating fixed asset reports for management, including asset aging schedules and depreciation reports.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements related to fixed assets.
- A "Fixed Asset Accounting Technician " is responsible for maintaining detailed records of a company's fixed assets, including tracking purchases, depreciation, disposals, and ensuring accurate accounting of these assets within the company's financial system, often performing tasks like data entry, reconciliation, and reporting, while adhering to relevant accounting standards and company policies; essentially acting as the primary point of contact for managing the lifecycle of fixed assets within an organization.
