Job Summary
The Buyer I is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment for the company. This position requires ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials, while adhering to company policies and procurement standards.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Purchase materials, supplies, and services in accordance with company policies.
· Maintain supplier relationships, ensuring best pricing and quality.
· Review and analyze purchase requisitions, contracts, and agreements.
· Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials with sense of urgency.
· Track the status of orders, follow up on deliveries, and resolve any issues.
· Prepare and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies.
· Maintain procurement records, including supplier/lead time and product information.
· RMA/RTV Disposition of product timely insuring product is received by supplier and credit is issued.
· Deviation request submittal due to delivery/BOM error/Inventory adjustments.
· Workflow processing and completion – 30 days from receipt.
· Plant Shortage reports updates weekly-resolution added.
· KPI – Goals and objectives are assigned and are accomplished annually.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
· Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,).
· Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Preferred:
· Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
· Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPP).
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
· Ability to maintain supplier relationships and manage vendor performance.
· Knowledge of inventory management practices.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Hybrid Schedule-based with occasional visits to supplier sites.
· Light physical effort: may lift items up to 20 pounds.
· May be required to work weekends or evenings to meet project deadlines.
· Some travel to supplier locations may be required.
