Senior Buyer - Steel & Plastics

Job Description

This Senior Buyer position is with Kysor-Warren Epta, part of the global Epta Group, located in Columbus, Georgia. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement of materials and supplies while maintaining high-quality standards. Your contribution:

• Procure raw steel, plastic materials, supplies, and services in accordance with company policies and procurement standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Continuous Improvement team to minimize scrap and optimize steel-related processes.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
• Analyze purchase requisitions, contracts, and agreements, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, addressing challenges with urgency.
• Manage procurement records, supplier performance, and lead-time metrics.
• Resolve RMA/RTV issues efficiently, ensuring credit is issued appropriately.
• Submit deviation requests related to delivery, BOM errors, or inventory adjustments.
• Update plant shortage reports weekly and actively work on resolutions.
• Achieve annual goals and objectives as outlined by KPIs.
  
  
  

Your journey: You thrive in fast-paced environments, have strong negotiation skills, and are highly organized. Additionally, you have the following:

• A high school diploma and 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• A preferred Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• A certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPP) is a plus.
