Hiring experienced Buyer. Do you have background in purchasing and procurement in the automotive manufacturing or other general manufacturing environment. You will be accountable for all project purchasing activities including supplier qualification, negotiations, and supplier selection. Ideal person must be able to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Handles multiple projects and assignments with proficiency. Performs purchasing tasks according to the project timelines and provides detailed updates in project meetings. Responsible for researching and identifying potential new suppliers and facilitating the supplier approval process.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Leads supplier negotiations and preparation of contracts, including annual contract renewals
- Manages all project purchasing activities including supplier qualification, negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Supports Global Purchasing Suppliers and aligns with the Purchasing Manager and team at the earliest phases of the project to determine purchasing strategy (global, local-for-local, etc.)
- Visits suppliers to build thorough knowledge of their processes and foster positive relationships with key suppliers
- Coordinates with Supplier Development to closely monitor and develop new suppliers.
- Issues RFQs to suppliers, analyzes supplier quotes and competitively sources the lowest delivered total cost with rationale for prototype and serial production parts.
- Places Purchase Orders (PO’s) for the purchase of components, materials
- Negotiate long-term strategic sourcing agreements with suppliers.
- Serve as a liaison between Suppliers and Customers.
- Facilitates continuous improvement and VA / VE workshops with suppliers to improve efficiency and reduce costs for new projects.
- Facilitates technical review of components with suppliers and R&D to finalize technical requirements.
- Organizes, updates, and retains product information files and all purchasing-related records.
- Carefully monitors the cost status of each component and consistently negotiates with the supply base to stabilize costs.
