Hiring Experienced Buyer: Automotive Manufacturing Expert Needed

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced buyer with a background in purchasing and procurement in the automotive manufacturing or other general manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be accountable for all project purchasing activities, including supplier qualification, negotiations, and selection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead supplier negotiations and prepare contracts, including annual renewals
• Manage project purchasing activities, including supplier qualification, negotiations, and selection
• Support Global Purchasing Suppliers and collaborate with the Purchasing Manager and team to determine purchasing strategy
• Visit suppliers to build knowledge of their processes and foster positive relationships
• Coordinate with Supplier Development to monitor and develop new suppliers
• Issue RFQs, analyze quotes, and source lowest delivered total cost
• Place Purchase Orders (PO's) for components, materials
• Negotiate long-term strategic sourcing agreements
• Serve as liaison between Suppliers and Customers
• Facilitate continuous improvement and VA/VE workshops with suppliers
• Facilitate technical review of components with suppliers and R&D
• Organize and retain product information files and purchasing records

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, business, or related discipline
• Min 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing environment
• International sourcing experience
• Strong negotiation skills and cost reduction experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Common business practices relating to purchase, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes, and payment
• Ability to function in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
