Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Litigation Attorney to join our team. A successful candidate will bring at least 1 year of experience in any litigation field, with a keen interest in employment law. Experience in defending wage and hour claims, including class action lawsuits, is highly desirable.
We seek someone with experience in litigation, including, ideally, experience in case management, motion practice, as well as the taking and defending of depositions. The person having this position must possess good communication skills, organizational skills, and have a thorough understanding of clients law firm, P.C. policies, procedures and expectations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Handle wage and hour class / PAGA actions and / or single plaintiff employment lawsuits from inception through conclusion.
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Attend court hearings and trials
- Assist in client meetings and consultations
- Manage caseloads and ensure deadlines are met
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
- Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
- Take ownership of all client matters, concerns, and inquiries brought to your attention and resolve in a timely manner
- Must be courteous and gracious, always maintaining a professional demeanor
- Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the firm
