Position Summary:
LAFCU's Branch Member Service Representative II provides excellent service to Members and Non-Members visiting branch/service center locations. Provides information and promotes credit union products and services to build relationships. Processes applications and transaction/service requests in the general areas of establishing/maintaining accounts (incl. Checking, Savings, Money Market, Holiday, Share Certificates, IRAs, Business Accounts, etc.), loan request (incl. applications, funding and closing), and auxiliary credit union services. This position is a full time position and reports to the Branch Manager I at the employee’s assigned branch location.
Job Summary & Standards
- Delivers excellent member service face-to-face and by phone to Members and Non-Members alike, with a professional and pleasant attitude at all times.
- Assists members in all areas relating to their financial needs per their request(s); includes: responding to questions, performing transaction requests, resolving complaints, etc. according to policy and procedures.
- Processes new memberships, additional share accounts, savings services, consumer loan requests and general consumer loan fundings as requested by Members and Non-Members.
- Opens and offers new Business Accounts such as General Partnerships, Corporation, LLC, Sole Proprietorship/DBA accounts.
- Process teller transactions and balance teller work in a timely manner.
- Revises account membership as requested by the member as to deleting, adding or to relinquish joint ownership and create new membership applications.
- Funds and/or close loans from the Consumer Loan Department or any other branch along with proper loan instructions and documentation, this may include utilizing DocuSign to assist member with signing loan documents timely.
- Encourages and counsel members to apply for applicable loan products such as real estate, equity loans, HELOCs, auto pre-approvals, overdraft/signature loans.
- Utilizes working knowledge of credit union savings and checking products and related services. Also utilizes basic knowledge of membership criteria, online banking and other digital services provided by the credit union. Knowledge and skills required including required systems, policies, procedures, etc. Provides support by cross-training/sharing their knowledge with others as requested.
- Performs various file maintenance, within authorization limits, including processing requests for a change of address, check orders, and ordering debit cards, etc. Includes setup of Touch Tel-24 and Online Banking, reporting lost/stolen identification, debit card and Visa credit cards.
Qualifications & Opportunities
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Ability to operate standard business
- machines such as computer, printer, fax, copier and telephone devices.
- 2 years’ experience in banking operations. One-year new accounts and one year loan interviewing experience in a financial institution preferred
- Friendly and professional. Excellent communication skills; sound judgment, attention to detail and ability to write. Thorough knowledge of all credit union services and programs. Knowledge of regulations relating to consumer credit and knowledge in basic real estate lending. Knowledge of new accounts, share certificates and teller experience.
- 5 hours of sitting a day. Approximately 3 hours per day for the following activities: standing, walking, bending overcrouching, squatting, carrying, pushing or pulling. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. one hour per day. Fine dexterity and use of computer keyboards for long periods of time. Requires ability to use telephone system for extended periods of time. Visual skills for computer terminal, printers, calculator and credit union reports. Visual dexterity in the organization of financial records in chronological or alpha/numerical files. and hearing skills for phone use. Also requires repetitive use of hands.
Salary
- The minimum and maximum base salary range for this position is $21.76 to $31.00 in California.
- The target starting base hourly rate is between $21.76 to $26.38.
- This compensation and benefits information is based on Los Angeles Federal Credit Union's good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
- The starting base salary within the range will depend on a variety of factors that may include relevant prior experience and/or education, or skills and expertise.
