The Company: LA Injury Attorneys is a dynamic Burbank based personal injury law firm seeking a Litigation Assistant/Discovery Clerk for immediate consideration.
Requirements: Candidate should have background knowledge of the litigation process, possess a valid driver's license, have their own transportation, and be willing to travel on occasion to court hearings. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer. Other requirements include a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and Word Perfect with a typing speed of at least 65 wpm. Excellent organizational skills and time management is a must. Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment is necessary. Candidate must be bilingual in Spanish, as they will be working as an Interpreter for the Attorney and communicating directly with Spanish-speaking clients.
Job Description: Looking for candidates that have excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, are team players with a service attitude, and have a superior ability to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, staff and the general public.
Candidate will be responsible for explaining the litigation process to clients, giving clients consistent updates on their case, interpreting for attorneys prepping clients for their depositions or at mediations, communicating with defense counsel, etc. Candidate will work within the various aspects of litigation, including propounding and responding to discovery, filing documents with the court and calendaring. Duties will also include helping to draft, type, format and proof-read legal documents and correspondence.
The candidate should be outgoing, creative, intelligent, professional, and polished. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime. We offer a competitive salary, outstanding benefits package, and a team oriented environment.
