What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Caregiver position at L'Arche Portland?

Previous NOC shift experience highly preferred. Experience as an in-home caregiver, CNA, or direct support professional preferred. Nursing, social work, or special education students encouraged to apply.
As a L'Arche Nightshift assistant you will:
- Work cooperatively with the other L’Arche assistants (caregivers) to create community
- Assist core members (adults with intellectual disabilities) with basic hygiene and health needs, which include toileting, showering, and laundry assistance
- Administer routine and as needed medications
- Proactively and routinely attend to laundry overnight, including cleaning any incontinence laundry, and sorting / folding linens
- Diligently check and clean adaptive equipment overnight, including wheelchairs, gait belts, glasses, etc.
- Provide transfer support to two clients who use wheelchairs, including transfers for overnight bathroom needs
- Provide assistance with a sleep apnea mask throughout the night to ensure an effective seal
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings (currently Wednesday mornings)
- Complete all required paper and electronic tracking by the end of shift and provide verbal relays to the incoming caregiver
Pay is based on shift worked. We staff at two caregivers per night.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
