QA Manager/Certified Welding Inspector
Pay Range: $95k - $115k DOE
Shift: M-F, 7am to 3:30pm
The QA Manager/Certified Welding Inspector supports both Production and Administration to facilitate the movement of jobs and material within lead time and to Quality Standards.
QA Manager Responsibilities:
Manage Company Quality System (fully digital documents)
· Welder Certs
· NCRs, CARs, NOEs
· Internal Audits
· Inspection
· Part Records, WPS, Routings
Prepare and Lead Company Audits
· Nadcap, AS9100, ISO9001
· Client Audits
The Certified Welding Inspector skills, abilities, and experience:
· ITAR / US Person as defined by the ITAR.
· Highschool Diploma required.
· Current AWS CWI required.
· Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing required.
· Knowledge of GTAW and PAW Welding per AWS D17.1 for Aerospace Applications preferred.
· Non-Destructive Testing or Inspection (NDT) experience preferred.
· Experience working within an AS9100/ISO9001 environment with knowledge/experience of NADCAP
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel for data analysis
· Pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
· Ability to lift 35lbs.
· Follows directions well Maintains stringent quality standards and leads others to maintain compliance.
· Frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people around QA office Ability to work in a busy production environment with frequent interruptions.
· Excellent communication skills and can work well with others Excellent written and verbal communication and eager to be a collaborative team member.
Certified Welding Inspector duties and responsibilities:
· Complete Inspection and quality operations in the ProShop ERP system
· Perform receiving, first part, in-process, and final visual inspections of weldments to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and codes.
· Use inspection tools such as, but not limited to, loupe, microscope, borescope, fillet weld gages, height gage, protractor, dial indicator and calipers to complete dimensional inspections.
· Make objective decisions based on a variety of specifications and codes.
· Identify discrepancies, discontinuities, and write descriptions of conditions.
· Review Manufacturing Work Orders for completeness Ensure accuracy and compliance of Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Pack Slips and Certificates of Conformance
· Perform FAI using AS9102 forms, organize and completes associated data packages.
· Create non-conformance tags as required Issue nonconformance and corrective action tasks.
· Review requirements for welder performance and weld procedure qualifications
· Seek root cause and correction actions for issues when directed.
· Issue and return filler material, raw material, flux, etc.
· Document and issue weld fixtures and tooling
· Participate in developing, maintaining. and improving the QMS Manage both AS9100 and Nadcap systems and ensure full compliance.
· Completes internal audits as directed by the QA Manager Lead annual and bi-annual recertification audits.
· Assist in training and development of teammates.
· Maintain all training and certification processes.
· Assist other areas as needed: shipping. Warehouse, and post weld operation

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to Shop/Industrial environment. Frequently used PPE in this position is: Ear protection, dust masks, respirators, gloves, and safety glasses.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has 1 direct report- CWA
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. Three or more years’ work experience, one year’s experience in a similar role working within guidelines of a Quality Management System
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations: CWI, Certified Welding Inspector.
Eligible to work on ITAR projects (lawful permanent resident of the United States as defined by 8 U.S.C.)
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of typing, Windows, Microsoft Office, website navigation, and ERP.
