What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Shelf Set Specialist position at L&f Distributors Llc?
The Independent Shelf Set Specialist objective is to establish and maintain a strong, professional and consistent working relationship with each assigned customer to maximize sales with the proper assortment and space allocation. Independent Shelf set Specialist is informed of and supportive of all company policies and pursuant of set goals and objectives. The use of the space planning software and production of Plan O Grams are to meet the needs of the retailer and maintain L&F Distributors’ integrity and position as Category Captain. Employees must also be able to quantify P-O-Gs regardless of who is the acting Category Captain. This must be done in a humble yet aggressive attitude with the goal of increasing the retailers’ sales, profits and ultimately increasing those of L&F Distributor’s.
Employee must work well with the team, communicate with the team and share responsibilities with the team. Employees will cooperate with other employees, supervisors and management and perform other duties as requested by supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
- Be licensed and able to drive a motor vehicle and be able to operate a light duty truck.
- Be licensed by T.A.B.C. to sell alcoholic beverages.
- Must maintain insurability to operate a company vehicle.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Have basic math skills
Morning duties:
- Clock in and Clock out without fail to maintain a time sheet free of errors.
- Must perform morning vehicle checklist.
- Report any discrepancies to mechanics before leaving warehouse.
Service:
- Independent Shelf Set Specialist concentrate on independent accounts assigned to them or as opportunities present themselves.
- Collect data records as needed to create and maintain P-O-Gs.
- Take routine measurements and pictures of permanent settable locations.
- Maintain P-O-Gs for all accounts with settable locations.
- Schedule implementation of approved P-O-Gs.
- Be able to incorporate new items and specific KODs for each account.
- Correlate sales information for best placement by product type and package in each account by collecting internal sales data or otherwise.
- Be able to calculate percentage of space before and after P-O-G implementation.
- Work with Region Managers on P-O-Gs prior to presenting to store decision maker.
- Maintain computer files to generate monthly reports for management and space file transfers to AB as required or requested.
- Work with other vendors and personnel during shelf resets.

Arrive at the account and make the changes that have been agreed upon.
- Know the customer by name.
- Know each account’s policies and procedures as they apply to you.
- Be attentive to your customer’s suggestions and requests.
- Maintain integrity and commitment to the store and our product at all times.
- Leave and post laminated copies or reverse images of the P-O-G as needed.
- Replace pricing as needed.
- Walk the set with the customer to review and resolve any issues.
- Follow up regularly to ensure customer satisfaction and future POGs.
Equipment and Vehicle:
- Keep the company vehicles and equipment in first class condition with special care given to vehicle’s brakes, tires, fuel, fluids, and safety equipment.
- Report all vehicle and equipment problems promptly.
- File your weekly vehicle condition report promptly.
- Report accidents to the authorities and our office immediately after they occur.
- Keep computer work station clean and organized.

Physical Demands:
- Frequent tasks (25%-100% of the day that could last up to 8 hours):
- Desk type work while working on a computer.
- This consists of sitting, bending, digital flexion/extension, wrist flexion/extension/radial deviation/ulnar deviation, elbow flexion/extension, radial-ulnar pronation/supination, shoulder flexion/extension/abduction/internal rotation/external rotation.
- Measure and take pictures of shelves
- This consists of bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, standing, sitting, squatting

Moderately frequent tasks (0%-25% of the day that could last up to 8 hours depending on the number of accounts served for that day):
- To help rotate stock and adjust shelves as agreed upon by regional(s), salesman and customer.
- Reset coolers based on plan-o-grams.
- This consists of standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, lifting, reaching/overhead reaching, twisting, stair climbing, and shoulder rotation/flexion/abduction/extension.
- Packages vary in weight from 1-50 lbs.
Training Requirements:
- At the discretion of management, the employee may be asked to undergo periodic safety training.
- At the discretion of management, the employee may be asked to undergo web or class room training as it pertains to space planning software.
