Assistant to Service Manager
The Service Manager's assistant is responsible for helping the Service Department with customer service needs, opening and closing of work orders , filing and reconciling warranty claims, activities in predelivery of new equipment, repair and reconditioning of used and trade-in equipment, daily operations of shop functions, field service function, delivery and company vehicle maintenance.
*Handles phone calls, advises customers on technical problems, scheduling customer service needs, planning and assigning jobs to work orders containing job information and specifying job instruction.
*Assists in appraisal and quotes of repair work coming into the shop and discusses with service manager the service required, both in parts and labor.
*Assists in scheduling shop assignments, field service work and truck requirements for pick-up and delivery of equipment.
*Assists in establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet schedules and deadlines.
*Assists in establishing or adjusting work orders to ensure timely closing to meet company goals.
*Assists in maintaining service department records
*Files and reconciles warranty claims.
*Supervises all shop activities when Service Manager is away from Branch.
* Maintains the service library with current information under direction of the service manager
* Back up at rental counter
Job Specifications:
*Equipment education or two years of mechanical experience as a service technician (preferred) not required
*Computer skills (proficient typing skills, and basic Microsoft knowledge)
*Dealer information system software knowledge (preferred) not required
*Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (written, oral, diagram or schedule form)
*Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
*Able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50lbs.
* Reports to Service Manager
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
