LL Pelling is a large heavy-highway construction company with a small, dynamic HR team based in North Liberty. We’re looking for an enthusiastic entry-level HR Coordinator to join our HR Manager. This position offers variety—your tasks will change with the seasons, and you’ll work closely with employees, ensuring they get the best experience from hiring to benefits and beyond.

What You'll Do:

• Help manage job postings and the applicant tracking system.
• Welcome new hires with multiple orientations each week.
• Support employees with benefits enrollment and answer their benefit questions—you're the go-to person!
• Set up and maintain digital employee files.
• Tackle monthly benefit invoices- ensuring everything adds up and runs smoothly.
• Keep everyone informed by creating emails, flyers, and even social media posts.
• Hit the road (and job sites!) each month to ensure job boards meet state and federal posting requirements.
• Assist with organizing training, arranging travel, and helping with company events.
• Take ownership of special projects as assigned by the HR Manager (ACA reporting, ERISA mailings)

Skills We Need:

• You have at least two years of administrative experience, preferably in HR.
• You have a license with an insurable driving record that allows you to drive a company car.
• You’re a problem solver who enjoys figuring things out and helping others.
• You’ve got a knack for organization and can easily juggle multiple tasks.
• You thrive under pressure, but when it gets slow, you're self-motivated and competitive to work ahead or find ways to improve workflows.
• You’re comfortable with technology and can handle basic office software like Excel, Word, and Outlook (we’ll help you with the rest!).
• You’re detail-oriented, able to prioritize, and always meet deadlines.
• We'd love it if you were fluent in Spanish - and prefer someone who is, but it's not a requirement.

What We Offer:

• A M-F, 8 am – 5 pm schedule with a relaxed dress code (seriously, jeans and tennis shoes!).
• Hourly wage starts at $20/hour for those meeting minimum requirements, with up to $22.50/hour for candidates with prior HR experience and Spanish fluency.
• A small, close-knit HR team with variety during the season—no two days are the same.
