Senior Field Application Engineer - Industrial


We are looking for a talented Field Application Engineer (FAE) with a strong background in the semiconductor industry to join our dynamic team. The FAE will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our engineering team and customers, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting, and comprehensive product support.

The successful candidate will have the technical acumen to understand complex semiconductor products, the interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers, and a proactive approach to solving customer issues.


Areas Of Responsibility

  • Technical Support: Act as the primary technical interface for customers, providing hands-on support, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to our semiconductor products and solutions.
  • Pre- and Post-Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team in pre-sales activities to understand customer requirements, conduct product demonstrations, and propose solutions that meet customer needs. Provide post-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction and proper product implementation.
  • Customer Relationships: Establish and foster relationships with technical leaders and with clients.
  • Customer Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training sessions and technical documentation for customers to ensure they can fully utilize our products.
  • Application Development Support: Work closely with R&D and product teams to provide customer feedback on application requirements, assist in customizing solutions, and support development of new features based on customer demands.
  • Product Testing and Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations and compatibility testing with customer applications, ensuring products meet customer specifications and performance expectations.
  • Market Insights and Competitor Analysis:
  • Collect and relay valuable market feedback and competitive intelligence to the sales, marketing, and product development teams.
  • Understand customer technology roadmaps, R&D and future requirements.
  • Support sales, marketing, and product development teams to develop strategies to win new businesses.
  • Travel: Visit customer sites for technical support, training, and relationship-building as needed
  • Coaching: Support other FAE in the execution of their responsibilities.
  • Other: Any other duties necessary to accomplish company targets, and support other teams.

Experience and Qualification

  • Bachelors in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated success in semiconductor solution selling (15 years as a FAE)
  • The ability to prioritize and delegate customer technical questions
  • The ability to work with all levels of management and build positive relationships while having influence across the sales and marketing organization
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with managing change to result in positive outcomes
  • Strong ability to make data-driven decisions and effectively use key performance indicators to measure success
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in a semiconductor FAE role or similar position, with a solid understanding of semiconductor technologies, IC design, and related applications.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor components and systems for Industrial market
  • Knowledge on analog/digital circuits, power management, microcontrollers and microprocessors.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Proficiency in [relevant programming languages or simulation software if applicable].
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide actionable solutions.
  • Customer-Focused: A proactive, customer-first attitude with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
