Job Description:

Weld level 1 mastery of one process (ferrous, nonferrous, and nickel alloys). Including setting of machine and shielding gas selection.

Department: Weld

Shift and Hours: Monday-Thursday; 5:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Compensations: Non-exempt’ pay will be commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Understand various weld form symbols.
• Understand process of prepping for finish by checking for pinholes in the weld, weld spatter on the part and eliminating sharp edges.
• Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
• Maintain assigned area and equipment in safe and functional order.
• Welders may provide cross-functional fabricator duties as assigned.
• Perform operator daily PM on tools and equipment.
• May be required to operate a forklift.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to square up and weld various geometries of components.
• Ability to weld vertical, horizontal, flat, and overhead welds.
• Ability to accurately read tape measure and blueprints and Calipers.
• Ability to inspect finished product, parts, or units for conformance to print and all clean up detail.
• Ability to Weld Carbon, Aluminum and Stainless.
• Ability to select shielding gas, for GMAW or GTAW filler materials, and set machines.
  
  

Education And Other Requirements

• Able to lift 50lbs or less.
• Must pass drug screen.
• Must be able to work in a team with others.
• Must be able to follow instructions and take direction.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Must follow personal protective equipment policies.
• Work in manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise and fumes.
• Fast-paced environment with moving objects, sharp edges, and congested work area.
• Will be pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching overhead, grasping, and lifting to 50 pounds.
