If you are a highly skilled avionics technician who is considered to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by all of your peers with years of experience in commercial aviation, we have an opening for an Aircraft Systems Design and Integration Engineer position that may be perfect for you! We are looking for the ideal person who has lots of experience in avionics that wants to jump to into an engineering position that connects the avionics technicians with the engineering team and helps to design the highest quality integration package in the industry! Relocation to the Cincinnati area is available for qualified candidates although relocation is not required.
POSSIBLE SIGN ON BONUS OF UP TO $5,000.00 FOR RIGHT CANDIDATES who complete 180 days of employment.
Description :
The Aircraft Systems Design and Integration Engineer is typically an expert Avionics Technician that has grown in to an engineering role who is responsible for the design, integration and implementation of electrical and avionics systems for various aircraft types. Job duties include designing integration of communication equipment, creating drawings using CAD, performing functional tests, troubleshooting systems after installation, and providing technical support to customers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluate new technologies and perform risk assessments.
- Improve the design of aerospace systems.
- Collaborate with a community of aerospace engineers and customer engineers.
- Coordinate testing of aerospace systems.
- Generating System Requirement Documents.
- Solve real-world challenges.
- Documents work by maintaining files for each job.
- Creates component to aircraft system integration drawings and designs to be presented to FAA Designated Engineering Representatives(s) (DER) that are satisfactory for approval.
- Remains cognizant of the status of aircraft programs assigned. Maintains awareness of anticipated irregularities that might contribute to or create a delay and notifies management and customers of all delay risks.
- Expedites acquisition of required parts and coordinates maintenance requirements in the event of irregular operations or workload interruptions.
- Keeps Program Manager assigned current with status reports of all projects in work.
- Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues and informs the appropriate managers of possible issues at the earliest opportunity which might be detrimental to team spirit or the motivation of staff.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Prepares a variety of written correspondence and periodic and special reports regarding work performed. Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
