The Supply Chain & Logistics Analyst is responsible for optimizing the supply chain process and distribution network for the cigar and tobacco production line, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement, production, and distribution.
Location : Miami, Florida
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
Reports to : COO
Responsibilities
Meet compliance : Work with the Compliance and Regulatory Analyst to ensure that all export and import processes comply with regulations and policies by reporting to different government authorities.
Cost jobs : Ensure that jobs are profitable for the organization.
Liaise with partners : Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and partners. Effective communication and negotiation skills are crucial for success in this role.
Risk management : Mitigate risks associated with international trade, such as currency fluctuations, political instability, and supply chain disruptions.
Daily Activities
Analyze and monitor supply chain data, identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in the tobacco product lifecycle.
Coordinate with procurement, production, and distribution teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding shortages or excess stock.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to establish delivery schedules, negotiate terms, and address issues related to quality or delivery.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all supplier and carrier communications, ensuring alignment on schedules, requirements, and expectations.
Draft, review, and distribute communications to suppliers and carriers regarding shipment updates, order changes, and compliance requirements.
Handle documentation : Prepare and verify accurate and complete export / import documents, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.
Monitor logistics and distribution channels to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards specific to tobacco products.
Coordinate with internal teams to provide updates on shipment statuses, lead times, and any disruptions, fostering transparency and proactive issue resolution.
Coordinate shipments : Oversee the transportation of goods to other countries, specifically to the Dominican Republic.
Manage and resolve escalations or disputes with suppliers, carriers, or internal stakeholders promptly and professionally.
Prepare and present reports on key supply chain metrics, such as lead times, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.
Use supply chain software to streamline operations, track shipments, and maintain accurate data on product movement and inventory.
Plus :
Experience with coordinating customs clearance : Work with customs brokers to facilitate the smooth passage of goods through customs checkpoints, including preparing customs documentation, paying duties and taxes, and resolving any issues that may arise during the clearance process.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in supply chain analysis or logistics, preferably in a regulated industry such as tobacco, food, or pharmaceuticals.
Strong understanding of supply chain principles and experience with inventory management and demand forecasting.
Proficient in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
Knowledge of regulatory standards affecting the tobacco industry (e.g., FDA compliance for tobacco products).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
