We are seeking a talented and passionate Assistant Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with experience in baking and pastry preparation. As an Assistant Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating high-quality pastries and desserts that delight our customers. Your attention to detail will play a significant role in enhancing our menu offerings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pastry Chef in preparation and baking a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food handling procedures are followed to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to create new dessert items and seasonal specialties.
• Maintain inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Assist in the presentation of desserts for service, ensuring an appealing visual display.
• Uphold customer service standards by responding positively to feedback and making adjustments as needed.
• Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation while adhering to safety protocols.
• Participate in kitchen clean-up duties to maintain a tidy workspace.

Experience

• Strong interest of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and food handling practices.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for creating delicious baked goods and an eagerness to learn new techniques.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
