Position Summary: Provides direct resident services using the trauma-informed model to survivors of domestic violence.
Hours: As assigned, forty-hours (40) weekly, varying schedule, weekends and holidays are required.

Salary: $16.00 per hour - Depending on education and experience
Essential Duties:
Direct Client Services:
- Support residents with navigating local resources.
- Monitor and answer the 24-hour Crisis Hotline.
- Provide crisis intervention, support, and referrals that support client’s self-identified goals.
- Ensures a safe and welcoming shelter environment by maintaining the physical space and using conflict resolution skills when necessary.
- Distribute food, clothing, and personal items.
- Transport residents to and from appointments, school and other approved destination.
- Mediate resident conflicts using motivational interviewing skills.
- Provide all services in an empathetic manner, using the principles of trauma-informed care.
Shelter Upkeep:
- Reports promptly all safety and maintenance-related concerns using an electronic tracker.
- Completes cleaning duties, including sweeping and moping, dusting, making beds, gathering bedding and other necessary items in preparing rooms for residential clients.
- Assists kitchen personnel, with setting out meals, unloading groceries, and with some food as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Completes all required documentation and paperwork in a timely and through manner, including billing, case notes, and critical incident reports.
- Maintains and accurate record of residents in shelter and services accessed, using a variety of electronic tools.
Training:
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training, as scheduled.
- Ongoing professional development including keeping abreast of recent trends and developments regarding domestic violence and advocacy as they pertain to the clients accessing La Casa, Inc. services.
- Attends seminars and training approved by supervisor.
Additional Duties:
- Ability to drive agency vehicle on a daily basis.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Assist donors with unloading items into carts and pushing carts to outside donations area when needed.
- Pick up bags or boxes of donations from outside front area or lobby area to maintain clear paths.

- Maintain strict confidentiality per agency policy, and federal requirements.

Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year full-time (can be volunteer or paid) experience in a service position working directly with the public.
- Substitution of education/experience: Is allowed on a one for one year basis.
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish/English is highly desirable.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Current CPR Certification
- Other: Post-offer drug/alcohol screen, TB test and background check.
- Warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental with demonstrated ability to maintain healthy boundaries with clients and staff.
