Job Description

The primary purpose of the Visitation Monitor is to provide professional monitoring of families referred to La Casa, Inc.’s Safe Exchange and Supervised Visitation program. The Visitation Monitor will provide accurate, unbiased reports to the NM Children, Youth and Families Department; fair and unbiased supervision of parents and children; intervention and redirection of parents, when necessary, to ensure the safety of the children and timely reporting to the Supervisor, ensuring families, attorneys, CYFD personnel and the Courts involved with the program receive professional services and quality documentation.

Working Conditions

· Work hours: Monday - Friday (Some evenings as needed.)

· Flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours is required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Monitor trainings.
  • Assist in scheduling and maintaining calendar for supervised visitation and/or exchanges.
  • Record, maintain and document clients and children’s behavior in a legible manner.
  • Interact in a positive, respectful and professional manner with clients and children.
  • Maintain the Visitation rooms in a clean and organized manner.
  • Attend court hearing and testify as necessary in a positive, respectful and professional manner.
  • Attend staff meetings and assist in the evaluation of the program.
  • Submit timesheets and report to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and document storage in line with La Casa, Inc.’s policies.
  • Attend all agency staff/supervision meetings, attend in-services and participate in staff development activities.
  • Participate in meetings/trainings for local and statewide institutional partners, and other agencies, as assigned.

· Participate on internal and external committees, as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Positive attitude and pro-active approach to problem solving.

  • Regular access to independent transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of

insurance for effective service delivery.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Fluency in Spanish and English (verbal and written).

· A minimum of two (2) years experience working with domestic violence.

· Attend continued education training on advocacy and trauma-informed services for victims and their children.

· Valid New Mexico driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.
  • Completion of a minimum of 40-hours of advocacy training within 60 days of hire is required; previous completion of the training is strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to family success and the goals of the program.
  • Complete and pass a criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
