As soon as practical afterpronouncement, will notify next of kin.Collects samples and specimens for laboratory analysis.Arranges for performance of pathological or medicolegal examinations and other tests, including autopsies, as individual situations warrant. May accompany bodies to autopsies.Performs physical examinations and tests incidental to any matter of a criminal nature when requested by the Court or District Attorney.Testifies as an expert witness when requested concerning the facts and conclusions disclosed by autopsies, physical examinations, and any other tests performed.Obtains personal data and medical history of the deceased by examining documents and interviewing relatives, friends, and acquaintances of the deceased.Completes forms, questionnaires, and reports.
