Dietary Manager

Responsible for the overall direction and supervisor of the Dietary Department, personnel, and food production to ensure the nutritional well-being of all residents

· Selects, trains, and develops an effective and efficient staff

· Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives; conducts performance appraisals; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems

· Develops and implements operational methods and techniques to provide maximum efficiency within budget allowances for food, staffing, and supplies

· Establishes departmental procedures in accordance with state regulations and administrative policies and develops standards for organization and supervision of dietary service

· Monitors all costs associated with the Dietary Department and maintains accurate records of invoicing in order to report month-end costs, statistics, and monitor year-to-date expenses. Responsible for maintaining the departmental budget

· Determines quality and quantity of food required to meet menu specifications, provides standardized recipes, orders items needed and controls food production

· Actively participates in facility QA meetings, nutrition, weight loss, and skin meetings

· Performs other related duties as required or requested

· College Degree in food, nutrition, dietetics, or food service management or the equivalent in related work experience

· Graduate of a dietetic technician training program approved by the American Dietetic Association or a graduate of a state-approved course of instruction in Food Service Management required

· 2 years supervisory experience in the dietetic service of a health care institution

· Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English

Work Environment – Office

This job operates in a professional office environment with minimal exposure to dust, chemicals or noise. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
