What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vascular Sonographer RVT part-time for vein clinic position at La Jolla Vein Care?
We are seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist (RVT or RVS) to join our team at our Vista location in a part-time capacity as a 1099 at first 2-4 days per week. The position may grow into a full-time opportunity.
La Jolla Vein Care is one of Southern California’s first accredited vein and vascular center by the Intersocietal Accreditation Committee. We are seeking an experienced Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic team. The applicant should have at least 2 years of employed experience performing reflux studies and knowledgeable about performing studies in both the standing position and reverse Trendelenburg. Proficiency in DVT studies and mapping venous anatomy is also required. Knowledge of endovenous procedures such as RFA, and foam sclerotherapy helpful. Must be graduate of an accredited ultrasound program (Vascular focused preferred) RVT or RVS credentialed by ARDMS or CCI. RPhS certification is a plus.
Schedule: currently, the shifts may be Monday through Friday, no weekends and will vary upon need. There are no weekends, nights, or on-call requirements. We are also closed most major holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Vascular sonographer will be responsible for:
· Proficiently perform venous insufficiency studies, DVT studies and assist the doctor in endovenous ablation procedures (when needed). Review images via our cloud based PACS system and write professional preliminary reports for the reading physician. Ability to relay abnormal results to ordering physician and reading physician. Creating a vein map to relay information to physician creating the treatment plan.
· Additional responsibilities are: maintaining a clean workspace, and ultrasound scanning area. Collaborating with other sonographers, maintaining a professional attitude with all coworkers and patients.
· Explaining the exam the patient and answer any questions they may have.
· Able to perform other vascular studies such as ABI, LE Arterial, Carotid, AAA scan when needed. (If no experience, opportunity to learn how to do these exams for the right candidate.)
· Notifies consulting physician of any unusual or abnormal reports. Ensures that complete, accurate, and timely reports and billing is submitted and follow-up is completed.
· Follow the policy and protocols to be compliant with the IACVL (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for Vascular Testing).
· Ensures patient safety is maintained at all times.
· Team player, and assist other sonograhers as needed.
Job Types: Per diem, Contract, PRN
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
