On Call Banquet Server

La Mer Beachfront Resort is currently hiring for Banquet Servers.

We are looking for candidates, willing to work an event-driven schedule on a part-time / on-call basis. These events can be held on days, nights, and weekends.

Duties include but are not limited to;

• Ensuring that the banquet event runs smoothly and efficiently from beginning (set-up) to end (breakdown)
• Dress dining tables, including linen, dishes, silverware, glassware, etc.
• Set-up and prepare the buffet tables, including chafing dishes, serving utensils, beverages, accompaniments, etc.
• Assist culinary team with initial stocking of the buffet area; replenish buffet during service when it is observed that food items are running low
• Keep buffet area clean of debris, including crumbs, discarded food, spills, etc.
• For plated dinners, take guest food selections and serve meals
• Remove plates & silverware from the tables when guests have finished eating
• Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of the catering storage areas at all times

Qualifications:

• At least one (1) year food & beverage experience.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Work Schedule: must be willing to work an event-driven schedule on a part-time/on-call basis; including days, nights and weekends.
• Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service by going above and beyond to exceed guest expectations.
• The ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems and be proactive in anticipating guests needs.
• Must be able to adhere to the company’s grooming standards at all times.
• Must be able to frequently stand and walk for long periods of time;
• Must be able to uses hand to reach and grab.
• Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.
• Must be able to occasionally sit, climb, and balances.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
