What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at La Mer Seafood?
We are excited to launch two unique dining experiences under one roof—a vibrant tapas restaurant and an authentic Japanese barbecue spot! We are looking for friendly, organized, and energetic hosts to be the first point of contact for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
Manage reservations and walk-ins efficiently using our seating system
Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize guest experience and service flow
Communicate wait times and ensure a smooth flow of guests into the dining areas
Assist with answering phones and handling guest inquiries
Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entry area
Provide guests with menu insights and general restaurant information
Work closely with servers and management to create a seamless dining experience
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A friendly, positive attitude with a passion for hospitality
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest concerns with grace
Experience with reservation systems (such as OpenTable or Resy) is a plus but not required
Must be able to stand for long periods and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
No experience required—we are happy to train the right candidates! Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are what matter most.
