POSITION SUMMARY
The Community Relations Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the hospital's community engagement and outreach programs to promote La Paz Regional Hospital's mission and values. This position plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships with local community stakeholders, media outlets, and external partners to enhance the hospital's reputation and visibility in the region.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Develop and execute comprehensive community relations strategies that foster strong relationships with local organizations, businesses, civic groups, and community leaders.
2. Enhance and protect the hospitals public image through consistent messaging, public relations efforts, and community outreach.
3. Act as the hospital's primary contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate information is shared. Write press releases, media kits, and respond to media inquiries to promote hospital initiatives and success stories.
4. Organize and oversee community events, health fairs, hospital tours, and fundraising efforts to increase community engagement and promote hospital services.
5. Manage the hospital's social media platforms and digital communications, creating content to engage the local community and inform them about hospital programs, services, and health initiatives.
6. Work closely with hospital leadership and staff to ensure alignment between community outreach efforts and hospital initiatives, providing internal updates and reports on community engagement activities.
7. Lead communication efforts in times of crisis or emergency situations, ensuring clear and effective messaging to the community, media, and stakeholders.
8. Identify and cultivate partnerships with local organizations, schools, businesses, and government agencies to strengthen the hospitals presence and support local healthcare initiatives.
9. Research, write, and submit grant proposals to secure funding for hospital projects, programs, and initiatives. Collaborate with internal teams to identify funding opportunities and ensure alignment with hospital goals and community needs.
10. Manage and support the hospitals foundation, overseeing fundraising efforts, donor relations, and community partnerships. This includes planning and executing annual campaigns, donor events, and identifying new opportunities for financial support to advance hospital programs and initiatives. Serve as a liaison between the foundation, the hospital, and the community, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to department needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in community relations, public relations, or communications, with a focus on healthcare or rural settings. Strong writing, speaking, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in social media platforms, digital communication tools, and media outreach strategies. Experience with event planning and coordination. Experience in grant writing and securing funding for healthcare initiatives is highly preferred. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree Preferred. Knowledge of rural health issues and the unique challenges faced by critical access hospitals is a plus.
