What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Educator position at La Sierra Academy Children's Center?
Seeking Part time CHRISTIAN Preschool Teachers to instruct in a preschool classroom on the campus of a K-12 Academy. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental, spiritual, and emotional development of the child.
A preschool teacher must have a great love and patience for children, and understand the science behind "play to learn" curriculum. Seeking knowledge of best practices (Title 22, and age-appropriate development), and the ability to engage children so that they can learn educational basics before Kindergarten begins. The ideal teacher will have the ability to anticipate a child’s needs, and be a self starter. Attention to detail, Anticipation of children and center needs, and timeliness are a must.

Requirements and skills
- Minimum of 12 core Early Childhood units
- Proven experience with Preschool age children
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms – Title 22
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
- Reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Develop an age appropriate and creative lesson plan, including daily worship.
- Employ a variety of educational techniques
- Assist each child in improving their social competencies and building self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact and resolve conflict at an age-appropriate level
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities
- Be able to supervise children while engaging in play with them
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents positively, and regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
- Collaborate with the teaching team, and Director
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards while maintaining adequate supervision
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 28 per week
