Position Summary
The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation & operation of laboratory classes whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid. The TA2 provides instruction during the laboratory. The TA2 may be called upon to assist with grading of laboratory assignments/quizzes and other clerical work related to the laboratory class experience. TA2 applicants must have taken and passed the course they would TA for with a grade “B” or higher.
The course instructor is the direct supervisor, and the person who makes the final hire decision.
The TA2 must be able to work a laboratory section for the full time the class labs run, plus allow time for set-up, resets, take-down, meetings with the instructor, grading and other operational activities related to the running of the lab & lecture.
After completing the online portion of the application you will receive email containing the Time Reporting Policy Agreement. After reading the entire agreement, if you accept the terms return the signed agreement to sci-support@lasierra.edu. After completion of the application process you will be contacted for an interview by the direct supervisor.
Wage Range: $16.70 - 17.30/hr

- Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Spring 2025 quarter
- Should be cleared and able to start work on or before the desired start date March 31
- Must have taken BIOL114L/115L within last 4 years and passed with a grade of B or higher or been TA2 for these courses with full wet labs in the last 5 years
