Position Summary
The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation & operation of laboratory classes whether in-person or virtual. This includes preserved specimen care, proper cleaning of lab ware and returning to the designated storage areas in the lab, lab prep areas or stockroom. The TA2 facilitates instruction during the lab. The TA2 may be called upon to assist with grading of laboratory assignments/quizzes and other clerical work related to the laboratory course experience. TA2 applicants must have taken and passed the course they would TA for with a grade “B” or higher.
The course instructor is the direct supervisor, and the person who makes the final hire decision.
The TA2 must be able to work the laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs, plus allow time for set-up, resets, take-down, course crew meetings, grading and other operational activities related to the running of the lab. Some courses (such as Human Gross Anatomy) have higher lab contact hours with resulting longer total lab times.
After completing the online portion of the application you will receive email containing the Time Reporting Policy Agreement. After reading the entire agreement, if you accept the terms return the signed agreement to sci-support@lasierra.edu. After completion of the application process you will be contacted for an interview by the direct supervisor.
Wage Range: $16.90 - 17.50/hr

- Must be a La Sierra University student enrolled in the Spring 2025 quarter
- Must be able to start work on or before required start date March 31
- Must have taken BIOL446/L and passed with a grade of B or higher
