Posted Job Title : Career Services, Student Assistant
Job Description : The Career Services student assistant provides overall clerical support to the department and participates in special events and office projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Front Desk Duties :
- Greet and assist students / visitors to the Career Services office.
- Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries
- Schedule appointments for students with career and / or academic advisors
- Administrative Tasks :
- Help organize and create career services newsletters with related careers information, job and internship postings, and department services and events.
- Prepare materials for career fairs, workshops, and other events.
- Event Support :
- Assist in organizing and promoting career-related events such as job fairs, workshops, and employer information sessions.
- Help set up event spaces, greet attendees, and provide logistical support during events.
- Social Media and PR / Marketing :
- Assist in managing and posting announcements on career services platforms.
- Help promote career events, job opportunities, and resources to students through various channels such as newsletter, Eagle Connect, and social media.
- Create and update materials (flyers, handouts, posters, etc.) for department events.
- Assist with management of social media and website updates.
- Assist with coordination of special events and workshops as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as but not limited to Google Suites
Forms, Sheets, Docs, etc)
- Organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask / work on multiple projects.
- Interest in career development and supporting fellow students in their professional growth.
Hours and Compensation :
- This is a part-time position.
- Hours may vary based on department needs and the student’s class schedule.
- Compensation will be based on university guidelines for student employment.
- Starting wage : $16 / hr
