Job Description
The Physical Therapist Assistant will play a vital role in our rehabilitation team, carrying out an individualized program of physical therapy to maximize patients' progress toward achieving functional goals. This involves assessing, treating, planning, implementing, educating, and communicating with patients and their families to ensure optimal outcomes.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of diverse populations.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency or crisis situations.
- Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program.
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide or assistant.
- Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, carry out treatment plans and provide direct patient care.
- Evaluate functional needs and outcomes, adjusting care plans to ensure optimal patient results.
- Design and implement a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential developments.
- Conduct therapy practice within defined standards of care, ensuring high-quality delivery of services.
- Direct the assistance of support staff to achieve patients' functional goals, promoting seamless care coordination.
