Job Description
The Staff Development Coordinator provides, plans, coordinates, and manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees. The coordinator also talks on the role of the Infection Prevention/Control Coordinator and is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent/control and monitor reports of infections and/or potential infections among residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Learning needs and designs in-service and continuing ed programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines
- Develops, implements, communicates, and evaluates annual training plan
- Develops specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis
- Works with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to the highest standard and all facility policies and procedures are carried out by every staff member
Qualifications
- Must hold current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required. Background/training in infection control is preferred
- Current CPR certificate desired
