The La Villa Grande Care Center is seeking an experienced Staff Development Coordinator to play a crucial role in planning and managing employee training programs.
Job Description
The Staff Development Coordinator provides, plans, coordinates, and manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees. This includes designing systems and approving actions to prevent/control and monitor reports of infections and/or potential infections among residents and staff.
- Learns needs and designs in-service and continuing ed programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines
- Develops, implements, communicates, and evaluates annual training plan
- Develops specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis
- Works with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to highest standard and all facility policies and procedures are carried out by every staff member
Responsibilities
As a key member of the team, the Staff Development Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Creating and implementing a comprehensive training program that meets the needs of all staff members
- Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate staff on new policies and procedures
- Developing and maintaining relationships with external providers to secure training resources
- Maintaining accurate records of training completed by staff members
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- A current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required
- Background/training in infection control is preferred
