Job Title: Press Brake Setup/Operator
Department: Production
Reports To: Metal Fabrication Manager
Available Shifts: 1st Shift 6am-2:45pm / 2nd Shift 2:15pm-11pm
Position Summary:
The press operator is responsible for handling press operations for the metal fabrication division of the organization. The operator uses an electrically powered industrial machine to create, shape and customize metal materials. You must know how to read blueprints to determine the measurements of each product and operate the press brake to cut and bend the materials into the shape according to specifications. Once the pieces are done, you will check to make sure they are the correct size and shape.

Minimum Background, Experience, and Requirements:
- Previous experience with Press machine operation, whether through steel manufacturing or sheet metal work.
- Exemplary motor skills are required for the position, as brake press machines have multiple settings and levers that must be adjusted for each job and quickly manipulated through the steps of creating finished products.
- Good analytical and mathematical skills to interpret drawings, templates, and blueprints.
- Inspect "first-part", consult with quality assurance and inspect work pieces throughout the production run
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Set-up an Amada/Trumpf Press Brake machines following the project details and blueprints
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Must be able to read gauges, tape measure and other measurement tools.
- Manufacturing related experience in a press environment is a plus.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Degree or certificate from a vocational school (preferred)
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail.
- Experience working with industrial machines.
