Overview
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator and Water Jet Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating press brake machines and possess a solid understanding of metal fabrication processes along with being able to operate and maintain a Water Jet Cutter. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a machine operator will play a crucial role in producing high-quality components that meet our clients' specifications.
Responsibilities
- Machine setup: Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine required bending angles, tooling selection, and material placement.
- Tooling installation: Choose and install appropriate press brake tooling (dies and punches) based on the desired bend.
- Material handling: Load and secure sheet metal or metal plates onto the press brake or Waterjet Machine using proper tools, including but not limited to operating a fork-lift.
- CNC programming: Input necessary parameters into the CNC control system to execute the bending operation.
- Operation: Operate the press brake machine to bend metal according to programmed specifications.
- Quality control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface quality, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on the press brake machine. Perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on the waterjet. Manages inventories and stock.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve minor machine malfunctions.
- Training: Assist in the training of new operators as needed.
- Other: Complete value-added processes such as drilling, tapping, post-machining, deburring and polishing;
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining and tooling.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes, including Waterjet cutting.
- Basic programming skills for machine operation preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to conduct post-waterjet operations (deburring, polishing, etc.);
- Metal Fabrication: 2 years (preferred)
- Waterjet operator: 2 years (required)
