About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomy Team Lead to join our team at Labcorp. As a key member of our staff, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and be the face of our company.
In this role, you will have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization and be responsible for providing coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties. You will also assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties
- Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites
- Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
- Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
- Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
- Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
- Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs
- Address any customer service-related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
- Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and make schedule adjustments as needed
- Promote teamwork, cohesiveness, and effective communication among coworkers
- Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist; 2 years is preferred
- Prior experience in a leadership position is a plus
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities, and techniques
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortably working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Must be 21 years of age, reliable transportation, and clean driving record if applicable
