What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Litigation Counsel - Civil-Commercial position at LaBonte Law Group, PLLC?
We are seeking a candidate who has passed the NYS Bar with 0-3 years of experience to assist with all aspects of civil commercial litigation, administrative hearings with DMV and NYC Consumer Affairs, defense of employment claims and to assist with reviewing, drafting and revising contracts.
Candidate will assist other associates in the preparation of cases and provide guidance and advice to clients. Associate will make regular appearances in Supreme, Civil, District and Small Claims courts on Long Island, NYC and Westchester.

Must possess strong writing, communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of corporate law, employment law or franchise law is a plus but not required. Starting salary based upon prior experience. Vacation and sick leave benefits provided.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school;
- Member in good standing of, and an active member with, the New York State Bar (Eastern and Southern Districts of the United States District Court is a plus);
- Excellent analytical and communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Associate will be expected to:
- Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients, maintaining strong client relationships;
- Make day and evening court appearances;
- Prepare pleadings and motions;
- Handle discovery process (depositions, document review and submission);
- Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel;
- Prepare witnesses, evidence and documents for trial; and
- Represent clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings and mediation sessions.
This is an in-office position (Monday to Friday).
Candidate should also be able to effectively use Microsoft Word and be able to conduct any necessary legal research.
Starting salary based upon prior experience and anticipated responsibilities within the Firm.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
