What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Lead position at Labor Solutions?
The Assistant Shipping Lead is responsible for packaging orders and preparing them for shipping. This includes using a forklift to pull gaylords for picking parts, moving pallets around, and loading trucks. This position assists the Shipping Manager in scheduling trucks for pickup, receiving and counting shipments from suppliers, put away newly received parts, packaging parcel orders for UPS, and more.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Shipping Duties
o Receive and review orders received from Customer Service team
o Pick and palletize parts in preparation for shipping
o Build pallets as necessary for large/unusual parts
o Inspect parts as you pull/palletize to ensure they meet AQC quality standards
o Assist in pulling and packaging parts
o Pull and package small parcel orders to be shipped via UPS
o Doublecheck every order that you pull to ensure counts are accurate compared to shipping paperwork
- Fill out shipping paperwork as you pull orders to keep track of progress and counts
o Assist in scheduling trucks for pickup using our specified logistics providers
o Loading pallets and loose parts onto trucks
o Communicate with Shipping Manager and Customer Service team when questions/issues arise
Receiving Duties
o Unload trucks from various suppliers, count the parts received, and compare the count to the packing slip to ensure accurate counts
o Inspect parts for conformance standards and criteria ensuring all parts are usable and salable
o Examine and count returned parts to confirm quantities and conformance to standards and criteria for resalable parts
o Put away stock parts in a logical manner using racking and pipe bays to ensure efficiency when pulling and packaging orders
o Collaborate with the Shipping Manager and Operations Manager when questions arise
o Assist in performing cycle counts and end of year inventory count
o Repackaging specific parts into salable quantities
o Relocate inventory around the warehouse to ensure optimal storage placement
o Assist production team with moving inventory when necessary
Requirements:
Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a picking/packing and shipping position
Experience interfacing with inventory/warehouse management software and Microsoft Office preferred
Experience working with Microsoft Great Plains is a plus
Forklift Certification and Experience ·
o Operating a forklift will be a daily requirement of this position, at times needing to reach up to shelves 15 feet high
