Laborde Products, LLC, a leading provider of high-quality marine diesel engines, is seeking a dynamic Marine Engine Account Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for driving strategic growth by developing new market opportunities, establishing key industry relationships, and expanding our customer base for Scania marine engines, including the 13-liter inline 6-cylinder and 16-liter V-8 models.
Ideal candidates may reside anywhere within teh Gulf Coast Region, between Mobile, AL, and Houston, TX. This role is well-suited for a high-performing sales professional with a background in business development, industrial sales, or technical B2B sales.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute sales and business development strategies to expand the reach of Scania marine engines across key markets, including small tugs, crew boats, ferries, pilot boats and recreational fishing vessels.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with vessel operators, shipbuilders, fleet managers, adn industry decision-makers.
- Drive market expansion by researching industry trends, competitor activities, and potential growth opportunities.
- Provide Consultative solutions by understanding customer needs and tailoring engine specifications to optimize vessel performance.
- Conduct high-impact products presentations and demonstrations showcasing the advantages of Scania marine engines.
- Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to ensure seamless customer support during the sales and installation process.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead feneration to closing deals and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Maintain accurate sales records adn market insights using CRM tools to track customer interactions adn sales performance.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Maritime, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in marine, industrial, heavy equipment, or technical B2B sales.
- Proven ability to build and grow markey share by developing strong relationships and executing strategic sales plans.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage with customers at all levels.
- Experience in industrial, transportation, or heavy machinery sales is a plus.
- Strong technical aptitude adn ability to learn complex product specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software for sales tracking and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Work Schedule and Benefits:
- Regular travel within the assigned territory, providing opportunities to engage directly with customers adn develop industry relationships.
- Standard work schedule primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend commitments as needed to meet client and business needs.
- Exposure to mechanical equipment and potential high noise levels.
- Physical activities include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, and lifting/moving objects up to 50 lbs.
