Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates for various projects, particularly in the electrical sector. This position involves collaborating with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for. The Estimator will utilize industry-standard software such as HeavyBid to prepare comprehensive bids and proposals. This is a Hybrid position.
Duties
- Analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Utilize HeavyBid software to create detailed bid proposals.
- Conduct thorough site visits to assess construction site conditions and gather necessary data.
- Collaborate with project management teams to understand project scope and requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards in all estimates.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budgetary control.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on electrical projects.
- Proficiency in using estimating software, particularly HeavyBid.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing from vendors.
- Familiarity with NEC regulations and standards related to electrical work.
- Ability to conduct thorough cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate pricing assessments.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
