What are the responsibilities and job description for the Federal Work Study - Peer Mentor position at Labouré College of Healthcare?

This is an internal position for registered students. The Peer Mentor will assist NUR 1015 and NUR 2025 students by providing academic tips and strategies they find successful. This position is based on need.

Essential Duties :

Performs outreach to assigned mentees and sets up meetings
Performs administrative tasks such as, but not limited to, making appointments, answering phones, responding to voicemails / emails
Tracks meetings on-site provided and communicates regularly with the Academic Support supervisor
Other duties as assigned or directed by the Assistant Director of Financial Aid or the office supervisor

Success Factors / Job Competencies :

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products and Calendly

Effective time management; able to organize and manage multiple priorities and interruptions

Customer satisfaction orientation; takes the initiative to identify and resolve problems

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong team player

Position Requirements (Education and Experience) :

Approval from Academic Support Specialist

Qualifications desired :

Successful completion of NIJRI 015 and NURI 025 and a current student

Performance standards :

Attainment of goals established between supervisor and incumbent
